Create Brawl stages on the PC

You know, for what Brawl has failed to deliver, the homebrew/hacking scene has made up for it: new costumes for the characters (RIP Syntax Error), new (and in my opinion better) physics and gameplay styles with large scale projects, and bringing the creation of stages well over its limits. Fanservice, casual play, competitive play, you name it.

For example have you tried this Brawl Stage Studio for Windows by Xane? It has all the functionality of the original Stage editor on the game plus the capabilities of hacked Brawl (putting objects on top of others, placing spawnpoints, limitless map pieces), plus an awesome interface. It's not definitive and it still glitches sometimes, but here's the thread on it: [link]

STARMEN's hard work really paid off! It's great so far. Tomato and Jeff are gods among men.

I've played in english up until the 2nd chapter. Man, it really is strange, funny, and heartrending. Before, I couldn't really understand the dialog, although the characters' actions spoke well.

Of course, get it on Starmen.net if you're interested. I'm curious to see how many hits they get.

Also, sorry I don't do much anymore here. I kind of lost interest for now.

Pngs or Jpgs?

Which is better, the PNG format or high-quality JPG format? Sure PNGs don't create artifacts, but JPGs save some time loading and saving without a really noticeable quality loss.

Deus Ex owns you.

God Damn Brawl really is a turtle fest. My friend just picks Wolf, blaster and FSmash all day and he still wins often the free for all.

Brawl flaws.

Ok, now I'm playing Brawl. The game is fun as hell, but hearing so many people claiming this game is flawless and that it shouldn't be criticized...
the shortcomings are here, even in the PAL version.

Warning: bawwww.

-Multiplayer takes little skill to play.

-Terrible repetitive Classic mode.

-The Subspace Emissary. Bad camera, cheap deaths, cheap enemies, crap puzzles, bad health system. Adventure mode > this tripe.

-The CPU is good as far as intelligence goes, but in a free for all it will almost always gang on the Human players only.

-The character balance is terrible. Snake and Meta-Knight dominate the character roster. Yoshi is even worse than in Melee and Marth is better... WHAT

-Almost every stage is out to kick your ass.

-Combos don't exist. Because everyone can airdodge or retailate as fast as possible after being hit, the game degenerates in just trading hits until one or the other is KO, and who has more priority wins.

- You will trip randomly. Running, walking, smash forward, all can trigger tripping. Annoying.

-Only five ugly target tests.

-The "Masterpieces" are really the complete original games... with a super short timer! What a ****ing waste.

-An endless amount of glitches.

-The Subspace Emissary focuses entirely too much on the Kirby characters.

-Sonic's moveset is unimaginative.

-Snake is broken.

-MetaKnight is broken.

-Mr. Game and Watch is broken. There, I said it.

-Online.

-Final Smashes are generic, cheap, unbalanced as hell (lol landmaster) and overall crap.

-Most new items are OP (the ****ing bumper that kills you at 30%), suck, or are useless. The Football rocks though.

-CDs don't want to appear and when they do they only last a second.

-The lack of bonuses at the end.

-2 minute time matches is always the default.
